About the role
As a Design System Lead, you'll own the design system that ensures consistency and efficiency across all of our products. You'll work at the intersection of design and engineering, building reusable components and establishing standards that scale with the organization.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the design system strategy and roadmap
- Create and document reusable components, patterns, and guidelines
- Build and maintain a Figma component library with proper variants and tokens
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on component implementation
- Establish design tokens for color, typography, spacing, and motion
- Conduct audits to ensure design system adoption and consistency
- Train and support designers and developers on design system usage
- Gather feedback and iterate on the design system based on user needs
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience with 2+ years focused on design systems
- Expert-level Figma skills including variables, tokens, and auto-layout
- Strong understanding of component-based architecture
- Experience collaborating with frontend engineers on implementation
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Experience with design system governance and contribution models
Nice to have
- Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools
- Knowledge of CSS, design tokens, and frontend frameworks
- Experience scaling design systems across multiple products
- Background in visual design and typography
